The three-legged vase is made of prefabricated tubes of technical glass, which I give a new form and function. The tubes are shortened, bent under heat and finally glued together using an industrially produced triangular prism. The vase embodies my interest in the readymade, which for me represents a more sustainable way to design. Using existing material makes the production process cheaper and makes the final product more affordable.
My name is Matyáš and I am a graduate of UMPRUM in Prague and the Royal College of Art in London. I gathered work experience in Paraguay at the studio of Javier Corvalán, at the Prague-based studio Petr Hájek Architekti, and at Foster and Partners in London. I specialize in product design, interior design, and architecture. At the moment I am also working on establishing my own brand of readymade design products called MATA BY MATA.
